Texas Legislative Session Ends, Special Session Begins

The 82nd Texas Legislative Session ended yesterday.  Victories include the Sonogram bill, the Choose Life license plate bill, a conservative balanced budget (that didn’t raise taxes, doesn’t use the rainy day fund), and Voter I.D. And quickly thereafter, it was announced that the first called Special Session begins today.

Click here to see what bills have been filed in the House and the Senate for the special session.

We’ll continue our work on conservative social and fiscal issues during the special session as well.

Two items we’ll be covering for sure are budget issues related to defunding Planned Parenthood, no use of the rainy day fund and no new taxes, and education policy that respects the authority of the State Board of Education.

Anything else? I’m wondering if I am still allowed to walk beside a man, as opposed to behind him? I’m wondering if I have STATE insurance, am I still allowed to see my gynecologist if he swears to God I am not pregnant and do not need an abortion, but merely an exam? Can I get a checkup without a pregnancy test first? Are mammograms still legal? Just checking. I’m wondering if I am raped, do I have to pay my rapist’s attorney’s fees? Thanks so much.

Ah Melissa-you still have the right to end the life of your unborn child in your womb, you still have the right to have as many abortions as you want without limit, you still have the right to abandon your child at a fire station (Baby Moses law), you still have the right to get married as many times as you want and get divorced as many times as you want.
