Travis County Could Spend $450,000 for Abortions; Refuses to Discuss with Citizens

Click here for an update on this issue!! https://texaslegislativeupdate.wordpress.com/2009/12/11/travis-county-bows-to-planned-parenthood-ignore-mass-public-outcry/

We testified last week against Travis County’s efforts last week to use $450,000 of taxpayer funds to pay for abortions.  Their response by the Travis County Health District after ours and the testimony of many others, was to run and hide in “executive session”, which means they discussed their intentions on this issue behind closed doors.100_0548Is this what the future of healthcare is going to look like?  Bureaucrats behind closed doors wasting our tax dollars on life destroying practices? What an outrage.

STAND WITH US & Call the Travis County Health District (512-978-8000) and tell them you don’t want your tax dollars to be used to pay for abortions and that you want this issue to be discussed in open view by the public!  They have not yet voted and you can rest assured they are being heavily influenced by the abortion lobbyists.

Planned Parenthood had two persons there testifying IN FAVOR of tax dollars being used for abortions.

I am an opponent of this in every sense of the word. I have not looked @ the election ballot as of yet but definitely will after this.

I am opposed whole heartedly to this. I believe abortion is against the divine will of God. Children are a blessing from God however they come into this world & last time I checked, the 10 Commandments said thou SHALL not murder. A common argument is that a fetus is not alive until a certain point during pregnancy. My argument to that is, if he/she is not actually a person during the early stages of pregnancy, then try not feeding it for awhile see what happens. I am a 30-yr old young lady who requires food to survive. If this child is not a child, why does it require food to survive, even at the earliest stage of pregnancy!?!

Some people say, well what if a woman has been raped, doesn’t she deserve the right to choose. That’s a difficult question since I’m not a woman in that situation & God willing never will be. More importantly, when I get down to the heart of the issue, abortion is still murder, regardless of how the child came into this world. I’m sure it must be difficult for a woman for an extended time to realize she is pregnant w/ her rapists child but she also must realize, it’s a child of God inspite of how it was brought into the world. As I stated earlier, murder is against the will of God. Therefore, abortion is against his will also. Why should any child pay for his father’s poor judgement, lack of respect for others, in many cases lack of self respect & disregard for the law of God simply b/c he chooses not to abide. This child didn’t ask to be brought into the world. God gave man & woman the power to procreate. That doesn’t mean His will is for us to disregard the “law of the land” simply to satisfy our own weaknesses.

This is a highly charged argument among many but when you break it down, from my perspective, it’s not difficult at all to come to a conclusion that it’s wrong. God help me if I’m ever forced into a situation where I’m tempted to have an abortion. Hopefully, I’ll have the courage & boldness to stand for what is right, regardless of the pressures of others.

I almost never leave comments like this on anything other than maybe facebook but as I was looking for info on the upcoming elections, I clicked to this. I don’t think it was by chance. God bless you. May God give you wisdom concerning this issue.
